Termite Facts:

    1. The soldiers of a termite colony do not have eyes.
    2. Termites are closely related to cockroaches.
    3. Termites build mud tubes to maintain their moisture levels so they don't die, as well as to protect them from natural enemies like ants.

    2. Make it hard for termites to live or hide near you home, eliminate hiding places such as:

• Lumber and firewood piles (stack them away from the home and up off of the ground).
• Remove leaf litter and bark chips next to the home.
• Eliminate moisture directly next to the home (leaking hose bibs and air conditioner condensation lines are sources to look for).
• Maintain a 2-3 inch gap between the ground and the base of the sill plate where the stucco starts.
